First the good news. If you’re planning your vacation between now and August, be sure to come check us out. It’s a great time to visit. Plants are near ready for harvest. We’ll be hunkering down with additional security measures as we begin to harvest in the coming weeks.

This creates a great opportunity for Hawaii visitors as you can get discounts in exchange for your trimming services. This only happens 2-3 times per year. So get in on the action!

We’re offering discounts for guests who trim.

Ask us for your discount code before you book with budandbreakfast.com or hawaiipottours.com.

Now for the not so good news. It seems we maxed out our strain size before going into flowering. We picked up some weakness in the strain. We don’t know what the combination was that caused our powdery mildew but for the first time in years we’ve got it. It’s currently under control using a lactobacillus spray. We spray the lacto-serum for 3 days, rest for two days and then spray 2 days with a coconut oil, fermented plant juice spray. The combination is keeping the PM from taking over but you can see the concentrations on the top of the leaves in the first photo.

We know some of you already have your favorite treatments and we’re open to learning so please let us know what works for you in the comments. If you’re new to lactobacillus, you can easily make lactobacillus in your kitchen. Also check out lactobacillus for your own health! If you cannot make your own, it may be available in your favorite grow supply store. We recommend using organic rice and milk from local cows.

Note: If you are lacto intolerant, you still need dairy products. So here’s some help cooking for lactose intolerance. Good luck, have fun, be safe!
